In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Steve Angello spoke about the breakup of the Swedish House Mafia. Their final U.S. gig will take place this September 21 at the sold out iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.

News of the split up that was first announced on SHM’s website with the group stating “the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you who came on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.” Whether or not you’re a fan of the Swedish House Mafia the news definitely has caused ripples to extend throughout the community.  Angello says, “We just decided that we reached a point where we don’t know what the next move would be. We always like the challenge. And we don’t like to repeat ourselves. We just felt like it was time.”

Blindsided fans have been seeking out answers for what caused the breakup between the trio.
When asked if any tension existed between the men he answered, “We’re like brothers…We’re still here. It’s not like anybody has died. We’ve had beyond our dreams and we’ve come very, very far. We just felt like, ‘let’s stop touring.’”

The breakup between Swedish House Mafia certainly hasn’t slowed Steve Angello’s solo career. The day following SHM’s final US gig, September 22, Angello and his label Size Records will be hosting “Size in the Park” in New City’s Central Park.  Size stars An21, Max Vangeli, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano will be joining Angello at this event, which sold out in less than 24 hours.
